A Marvel panel at the San Diego Comic Con 2014 was booed out of the building after presenting a preview of next May's "Avengers: Age Catches Up."
Fans summarily rejected the ultra-realistic character development writer/director Joss Whedon proposed for the 11th installment in the franchise.
Some hilights included:

Captain America- After several disparaging, "old-timey" comments to African-American officers, Steve Rogers is demoted to First Lieutenant America.

Iron Man- Billionaire Tony Stark falls into a deep coma after being choked out by one of his suits during autoerotic asphyxiation. Pepper Potts has no comment.

Thor- Once Homeland Security finds a means of containing the Asgardian, the extra-terrestrial is captured and indefinitely detained in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Incredible Hulk- After defeating countless foes, Dr. Bruce Banner is powerless to defeat the enemy within- a gamma radiation-enduced brain tumor.

Nick Fury and Black Widow - After the villainous Hydra's re-emergence, all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are declared enemy combatants.
Fury and Natasha Romanoff are killed in seperate drone strikes. Archery specialist Clint "Hawkeye" Barton is deemed "not worth the munitions."

After the swift public outcry, Whedon is reconsidering the direction of the movie.
"Maybe we could keep it comic-booky, with an army of robots or something."
Marvel is scheduling additonal shooting time for the movie next month.
